The West Palm Beach Business Mail Entry Unit (BMEU) proved their operation was a “shoe-in” with
SOX compliance during the quarterly reviews. SOX, an acronym for the Sarbanes Oxley Act established in 2002 contained two provisions: Certify the accuracy of financial
reporting, and establish internal controls verifying the accuracy of those
controls. The U S Postal Service has
been in mandatory compliance since September 2010, and as a result, BMEU Clerks have come to understand the importance of revenue assurance. In Quarter 3 financial testing, the West
Palm Beach BMEU achieved 100% for all controls being met.
"Our team continues to display dedication to excellence," said Acting Supervisor, Business Mail Entry Connie Mitchell. "The ongoing
training and continued commitment are the keys to our success."
Congratulations to
the West Palm Beach BMEU Team for its super star performance in acceptance and verification
procedures this quarter.
