women who gave their lives in defense of freedom, as Abraham Lincoln called the
“last full measure of devotion” in the fight for our liberty.

General/Chief Executive Officer Megan J. Brennan to veterans:

"Veterans Day provides our nation with the
opportunity to recognize brave patriots – courageous individuals like you and
your 113,000 colleagues who have served our country two ways; first in the
Armed Forces and now through the United States Postal Service.
Thank you for your service to the nation, protecting our freedoms both here and abroad. The Postal Service is honored to have you among our employees, and we are proud to be the nation’s largest civilian employer of veterans.
While we remember our veterans all year round, Veterans Day is a special occasion to salute you for all you have done to keep our democracy safe. Please accept this veteran’s lapel pin as a token of profound gratitude for the sacrifices you have made for the United States. It is a sign of respect to you, and a symbol of your tremendous patriotism and dedication to public service.
I am honored to pay tribute to your hard work and commitment, and on behalf of all 640,000 Postal Service employees, thank you for everything you do each day."
