The Q12 items measure how an employee feels about his or her work
environment and the impact of that environment on the employee in meeting his or her
needs. When answering the survey items, employees may ask their managers
questions such as:
Who/What am I rating when I answer this item?
Am I rating my immediate supervisor, my department manager, my facility
manager, the company, etc.?
Great managers understand that employees should use their own lens to answer the engagement items. This is the employee’s opportunity to
share his or her interpretation of engagement.
