Do
you know a postal retiree? Would they like to make some extra money for the
holidays, a.k.a. peak season? If so, we’re asking your help
in spreading the word about this exciting opportunity.
During
the last holiday season, the Postal Service proved it was the package-delivery
business of choice --- one that
could meet customer’s delivery demands in a timely and efficient manner. To help make that happen again this year, the
Postal Service is offering a special employment opportunity for the 2016 holiday
season.
We
will be staffing postal facilities throughout the South Florida District with
temporary employees during the upcoming 2016 holiday season, in order to meet
the mail processing and delivery needs for the anticipated increased package
and mail delivery business. Our retired postal employees have the knowledge,
community connection, and ability to provide great service, which makes them
excellent candidates for reemployment with the Postal Service in holiday term
positions, including:
Retired
postal employees who are eligible for reemployment should have already received
a letter from the Postal Service with details on how to apply. If you know
someone who did not receive a letter and is interested, they can apply and
HRSSC (Shared Services) will determine their eligibility.
Posting
dates and special conditions apply to each temporary position being offered, so
interested annuitants should be sure to check their letter, or simply follow
these instructions:
Open
a web browser and type www.usps.com/careers; under USPS Account, click
“Search Now”; in the keywords field type *Annuitant* exactly as shown; select
the “State” to narrow your search results; click “Start” and this will display
the jobs.
It’s
never too early to start planning for our busiest time of year. Reemploying retired postal employees helps
the Postal Service, the annuitant, and especially our customers, who gain the
benefit of the experience and knowledge of our postal retirees. Encourage retirees you know to apply today
and help us be ready for our special time of the year.
