Operations Industrial
Engineers (OIEs) play a key role in expanding standardized processes. Over 180
continuous improvement projects have been identified nationwide — in mail
acceptance, processing, and transportation. OIEs key roles involve improving service,
productivity, and cost performance through direct involvement and
accountability. In summary, part of their role is to make operations better
through application of industrial engineering practices.
The South Florida
District OIEs, recently attended one of their regularly scheduled meetings at
the South Florida District in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
