USPS is focusing more attention on its unique relationship with eBay, starting with the “Grow Your Business Days” (GYBD) events.
President and Chief Marketing/Sales Officer Paul Vogel says the campaign to promote the “Every Door Direct Mail” (EDDM) service through GYBD events laid the groundwork for similar strategies promoting USPS products and services. EDDM will continue to be a sales and marketing priority. Vogel urges Postmasters and other employees to continue pushing the product and following up on leads from GYBD events.
Now, Vogel says there’s going to be a “fresh focus” on eBay.
“We’re partnering with eBay to show online sellers how they can ship with the Postal Service — quickly, easily and affordably.”
With more than 94 million active users globally, eBay is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces. The retailer has made the Postal Service its “leading shipper of choice,” integrating USPS products with it’s shipping platform.
“From online price breaks to flat-rate packaging to package pickup, the Postal Service can help online sellers lower their shipping costs,” says Vogel.
Vogel calls on local GYBD organizers to update online shippers on the Postal Service’s new shipping products such as Priority Mail Regional Rate Boxes. “And don’t forget about returns,” he adds. “With easy and convenient drop-off and pickup, we offer several options that can make returning items easy for online sellers and their customers.”
