OSS Earns Green Belt Certification

Operations Program Specialist Arthur “Art” Niciforo earned his Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt for reducing missing/acceptable delivery events at the Hialeah Carrier Annex. Missing Acceptable Delivery Events, (ADE) scans affect scanning performance targets, customer satisfaction, and more importantly, both mailer and customer visibility expectations via internet product tracking. During peak season (Quarter 1, Fiscal Year 2015), the Hialeah Carrier Annex scored a 96.21% for ADEs. 

During the initial gathering of data and onsite reviews, Niciforo discovered the root causes to be communication, lack of training, accountability, planning and follow up.  By identifying, analyzing and capturing this lost opportunity, Hialeah realized a 2.91% increase in missing ADEs, and thus achieved an improved total score of 99.12%.
