On January 11, Miami Postmaster Enrique “Rick”
Suarez (second left) greeted the Friendship Circle at the Kendall Finance
Unit.
The
Friendship Circle is a program that involves teenage and young adult volunteers
who help children, teens, and young adults with special needs and their
families. One of the programs the Friendship Circle offers is “Life Skills Around
Town.” While at the Post Office, visitors learned how to stand in line with
other customers, approach the retail counter, and purchase stamps. Each
visitor then placed a stamp on an addressed envelope and then mailed it.
Visitors had many questions on how the mail was processed, and of course, the
Postmaster had all the answers!
