Fort
Lauderdale Postmaster David Guiney (not pictured) received a letter from a
customer who commended the excellent service provided by Sunrise Branch Letter Carrier
Loquacious Walker (center). To Walker’s left is Sunrise Branch
Supervisor, Customer Services Miriam Ramirez; and to her left, National
Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Branch 2550 Dajak “DJ” Williams.
The
customer’s letter read:
“Letter Carrier
Walker advised us of a pending change of address for someone with my same name.
I did not submit a Change of Address
request. Having determined an attempt of fraud, and with the advice of
Letter Carrier Walker, I contacted the U.S. Postal Service and filed a complaint and
lodged complaints with several credit card providers and the Sunrise
Police Department. Because of Letter Carrier
Walker’s advice, I was able to stop this fraud attempt, and hopefully apprehend
a suspect. I congratulate you for having an employee with attitude,
ability and conscientiousness, and by this letter, I ask that you formally
recognize her actions.”
Fort Lauderdale Postmaster Guiney
commended Walker in a letter as follows:
“It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to
receive a report such as this from a customer. We take pride in our
employees, and it is particularly gratifying when customers recognize
outstanding performance. Customer satisfaction is a valuable investment
in the future of the Postal Service. Your efforts have gone a long way in
improving our image. You can be assured of my support in this endeavor.”
