South Florida Dream Team members support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with pink ribbons.
Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamps are sold at Post Offices throughout the year. More than one billion stamps have been sold since its inception in 1998, raising more than $87.8 million for breast cancer research.
In the South Florida District, Sales and Services Associates (SSAs) sold $71,197.75 in Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamps as of October 28, 2018. Carol City Branch Sales and Services Associate (SSA) Joyce Stiles is credited with stamp sales that totaled $11,202.75. This accomplishment ranks Stiles as one of the top 25 SSAs in Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp sales in the country.
In addition to the Breast Cancer Research stamp, the Postal Service offers two other fundraising stamps. The Save Vanishing Species semipostal stamp, first issued in 2011, has raised more than $5.2 million to help protect threatened and vanishing species. The Alzheimer’s semipostal stamp was issued in 2017 and has raised more than $524,000 to fund Alzheimer’s research.
