October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Postal Service is reminding customers that a special stamp purchase can help fund breast cancer research.
The
60-cent Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp is available year-round and
is sold in sheets of 20. Semipostal stamps are sold at a surcharge to raise money
for specific causes.
Since the Breast Cancer
Research Semipostal Stamp was first issued in 1998, many innovative and
specialized treatments have been developed, not only increasing survival rates
but helping women thrive. In that time, this semipostal stamp has raised more
than $86 million to fund breast cancer research programs across the country.
Many programs that, with the funds from this stamp, were able to continue
groundbreaking research.
Fund the fight. Find the cure.
