Manager, Human Resources Retires

It's official. On August 3, Manager, Human Resources Jann Miller retired after 43 years of dedicated government service, first in the U.S. Marine Corps and then in the U.S. Postal Service. 

Miller joined the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Hialeah in 1977. She entered into the managerial ranks as a Delivery Supervisor at Hialeah's Palm Village Station in 1984. During her career, she also served as Supervisor, Detached Mail Service Unit at the Hialeah Carrier Annex and as Manager, Bright Station, Hialeah. Miller also served as Manager, Customer Services, Pompano Beach; and Manager, Human Resources, South Florida District.

Miller's extensive customer service background led to many detail assignments including Area Manager, Hialeah; Associate Office Coordinator; Officer In Charge, Dania; Project Manager, Integrated Resource Management (IRM); Acting Manager, Customer Service Operations, Pompano Beach; Officer In Charge, Pompano Beach; and Acting Manager, Operations Programs Support, South Florida District.  Her outstanding communications and human resources skills led to a special assignment --- host of the South Florida Television Network (SFTN), a monthly broadcast that entertained, enlightened, and educated 10,000-plus employees in the district.

In 2002, Miller graduated from the U.S. Postal Service's Advanced Leadership Program (ALP).

At a recognition event in her honor, Miller said she was grateful to the U.S. Postal Service for educational opportunities and encouraged employees to pursue their passion and develop their careers.
