Photo: Robert LowreyRecently Deerfield Beach PTF Letter Carrier Maralee Lopez was delivering mail to 230 North Federal Highway and noticed that customer Bruce Brothers was having difficulty getting out of his car.
A closer look and Maralee realized that Mr. Brothers couldn’t breathe. Maralee immediately called 9-1-1. Paramedics arrived and took Mr. Brothers to the hospital.
From the Intensive Care Unit, Mr. Brothers called Postmaster Carlos Rodon to express how grateful he was for Maralee’s quick thinking and that he appreciated her waiting with him for the paramedics to arrive. Mr. Brothers credits Maralee with saving his life.
Maralee is a member of NALC Branch 1071.
