Open Season, which began on November 10 for most benefits, is the
annual benefits enrollment period, when you can enroll in or make changes to
your medical, dental or vision coverage, or enroll in Flexible Spending
Accounts.
It’s an opportunity to decide if you need to make a change to your
health benefits based on your or your family’s expected health care needs for
2015.
Unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event, this is your only opportunity
during the year to enroll or change coverage in:
- Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB)
- USPS Non-Career Employee Health Benefits Plan (NCEHB)
- Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
The 2015 Guides to Benefits and the FSA Booklet are conveniently
located on the LiteBlue Open Season page. You will not receive them in the mail
this year.
In addition to the Guides, the LiteBlue Open Season page provides
more information about open season dates, as well as resources and tools
available through OPM.gov to help you find the right health plan for you. For
example, you can use OPM.gov’s Plan Comparison Tool to find available health
plans in your area and compare up to four plans side-by-side.
Once you’ve made your decision, you can make your selection
through PostalEASE, which you can access through the LiteBlue Open
Season page.
New health plan enrollments and changes made during the 2014 Open
Season will be effective January 10, 2015 (Pay Period 03-15).
