On November 20, Valassis Communications, Inc., one of the largest coupon distributors/processors in the world, hosted a tour of their facility for Miami-Dade County Postal Customer Council (PCC) members. RedPlum is the consumer-facing brand of Valassis, and RedPlum's newspaper inserts and direct mailings reach more than 100 million consumers a week.
In partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the U.S. Postal Service, Valassis distributes pictures of missing children as part of its "Have You Seen Me?" picture program. The program was launched on May 24, 1985. Of the 3,180 children featured, 1,800 have been recovered --- three of the missing children were found in South Florida.
Valassis Plant Manager Elsa M. Riera presented Miami Postmaster Rick Suarez with a letter of recognition on behalf of Valassis for the successful partnership assisting the NCMEC.
