South Florida District Mailing Standards Specialist Mary Ann Palacios (above) was approached by Real Estate Investor Marcus Smith from Georgia. Smith had been on a cruise and was ready to catch a flight home from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport when he received an email with an image of a mailpiece that he is interested in mailing. His first thought was that he needed to get to a Post Office before he sent it to print since he knew it was not a candidate for Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) to get an idea of how to mail.
Palacios immediately stated “this is Customized Marketing Mail” when she saw the image. She then took this opportunity to explain to him all of his options. She also advised him to go to usps.com to find his local Business Mail Entry Unit (BMEU) when he gets home.
“My goal is to assist all of our customers,” said Palacios. “I enjoy what I do.”
