Recently, the Broward County Postal Customer Council (PCC) hosted a Political Mailing seminar and invited Broward County Supervisor of Elections Dr. Brenda Snipes.
Those running for office this year were invited to join us to listen to Dr. Snipes and learn how the Postal Service can help them get the votes with a mailing campaign. Dr. Snipes took this opportunity to explain the working relationship that she has with the Postal Service and to give guidance to the candidates. Handouts with important dates about the General and the Primary Elections were given to attendees and were discussed at length.
“Voting controls the world influencing everything in our life. The more you know the more you understand,” she said.
Dr. Snipes was joined by South Florida District Manager Tim Costello, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Postmaster David Guiney, Senior Field Sales Representative Lamont DeJarnett, Mailing Standard Specialist Maryann Palacios, and South Florida Mailing Requirement Clerks Sharon Gunn and Taphine “Michelle” Wilcox.
At the end of the seminar, Guiney presented Dr. Snipes with an enlargement of the Lena Horne stamp to thank her for her participation.
