A Comforting Thought

Fort Lauderdale Postmaster Mike Fortunato (R) presents an enlargement of the Bob Hope Stamp to Captain Negus (L), commanding officer on the USNS Comfort. This hospital ship was docked at Port Everglades over the weekend. The Broward Navy Days organization and South Florida Wheelchair Foundation invited Fortunato to speak about the 44-cent commemorative stamp. During the presentation, Fortunato compared the "hope" that the medical crew provides to the sick and injured in Central and South America to the "comfort" that Bob Hope gave when entertaining the military overseas for decades of his life. Hope lived to be 100 years young!
