District Manager to Retire November 3

South Florida District Manager Jeffery A. Taylor will retire from the U.S. Postal Service on November 3, following a distinguished 34-year career.

Taylor began his postal career as a City Carrier in Bessemer, AL, later transferring to deliver mail in Birmingham, AL. After entering the managerial ranks, he served in a number of roles, both at the District and Area levels, including Delivery Analyst, Tort Adjudicator, and Operations Analyst.

He served as Manager, Operations Programs Support in Oklahoma and Pennsylvania; Senior Manager, Post Office Operations in Arkansas and Pennsylvania; and Officer In Charge (OIC) in Little Rock, AR, and Knoxville, TN. Taylor also served as Senior Plant Manager in the Arkansas District. He worked at USPS Headquarters, serving as a Subject Matter Expert in employee development   for city and rural delivery and helping to develop a   Postmaster training course.

A seasoned District Manager, Taylor has held that role in a number of locations, including the Rio Grande, Arkansas, and Louisiana Districts. He served as Acting District Manager in the Dallas and Houston Districts. He was named District Manager of the South Florida District in May 2013.

His plans for retirement include traveling and spending more time with family, including his wife, Angie, and his son, Matt.

“One of the hallmarks of Jeff’s career is his spirit of teamwork and his willingness to take on challenging assignments,” said Southern Area Vice President Shaun E. Mossman. “I know you join me in congratulating Jeff on an exceptional postal career. The Postal Service owes him a great debt of gratitude for his loyalty and dedication, and we wish him many years of a happy and healthy retirement.”
