A/District Manager Sends Holiday Greetings, Thanks Employees

A/District Manager Timothy Costello
Nobody delivers the holidays like postal employees. During the holiday season, more than any other time of the year, we are the bond that connects our customers with family, friends, business associates, service men and women.  We deliver their holiday sentiments in the community, across the country, and around the world.  From the retail associates who sell the postage and accept the letters and packages, to the mail processing employees who sort and distribute them, to the delivery team that gets them to the front door --- and to every mail handler, building and vehicle maintenance employee, MVS driver, executive, postmaster, manager, supervisor, and EAS and craft employee in between — it’s the greatest team effort in the world.

This is the busiest mailing, shipping and delivery week of the year, and I want to thank you for your dedication and commitment to our customers this holiday season. Our South Florida Postal Family is accepting, processing, transporting and delivering record levels of mail and package volume. Nationwide, nearly three billion pieces of mail, including greeting cards and packages, are expected to be processed and delivered this week.

Clearly postal employees know better than anyone else the importance of the mail. Mail delivers like nothing else can --- it delivers emotion, especially during the holiday season.  Whether it is a holiday card, letter, or package, it’s a tangible expression that you’re thinking of someone who is very special in your life.  It gives me great satisfaction knowing that the Postal Service --- our employees --- are forwarding that emotion, delivering that “mail moment” --- to loved ones, friends, and business associates near and far.

Working together as a team, our priorities in the New Year will be to generate revenue and contain costs --- and to do so in a safe manner without sacrificing service to our customers. Thank you, again, for your hard work and dedication to our business.  From my family to your family, have a wonderful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year.
