Power of the Mail Through Postcards

Postcards from nowhere

Two New York City, NY, photographers are embarking on a photographic journey of the U.S. they plan to share with others through the power of mail.
Beginning June 1, Andrew Kenney and Jake Jones will spend three months on a “trip to nowhere” visiting 50 states, snapping photographs along the way, which they will print as postcards and send to friends, family and supporters. The two fueled the project through online donations. Supporters who donated will receive from one to 50 postcards of their choice, based on the amount of their donation.
Kenney and Jones will send nearly 8,000 postcards. Along the way, they’ll also update a dynamic map-based website with photos, daily reports, videos and other related material.
The photographers say they decided to incorporate mail into their enterprise because of its “unique ability to connect people in a truly personal way.”
