In
this role, he is responsible for managing more than 11,000 employees, and
overseeing mail processing operations at three plants. Tim also manages retail
and delivery operations in 223 Post Offices, Stations, and Branches, which
serve a total of approximately 2.9 million delivery points. South Florida has
an operating budget of more than $1 billion.
Costello
began his career more than 30 years ago as a City Carrier in Jackson, MS. He entered the management ranks as a
Supervisor, Customer Services, and later served as a Manager, Customer Services
and then as Postmaster in three offices.
In
2006, he continued to develop his skills and knowledge of postal operations by
serving as Manager, Operations Programs Support in the Mississippi District and
then Manager, Operations Programs Support in the Atlanta District. His first Executive position was Manager,
Delivery Programs Support in the Eastern Area.
He was named to his first District Manager role in 2012, becoming
District Manager of the Alabama District.
He was later named District Manager for the Dallas District in May 2014.
Costello
is a graduate of the USPS Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) and also completed
the USPS Executive Leadership Program. He
attended Mississippi State University and received his Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt certification
from Villanova University.
