Inspection Service Seeks Two Ad-Hoc Operations Technicians EAS-11

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service Miami Division is seeking two individuals to fill Ad-Hoc Inspection Service Operations Technician (ISOT) EAS-11 positions (not to  exceed two years).  The pay level is $38,042 through $57,134.
 
These Ad-Hoc opportunities are open to all career postal employees in the South Florida District. Applications will be accepted today through Close of Business on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Selected applicants will report Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Inspection Service Headquarters, 3400 Lakeside DR, 6th Floor, Miramar, FL 33027.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Reviews publications, complaint forms, correspondence, test data and other information related to Inspection Service investigative programs; determines appropriate action, prepares responses and follows-up on results.
2. Enters timekeeping and case jacketing data into systems; compiles and distributes statistical summaries; ensures security of classified information, records, and files.
3. Analyzes and processes reports or inquiries; assists in developing and compiling specialized reports; verifies data to ensure consistency and completeness; reconciles discrepancies.
4. Performs various specialized tasks involving terms, techniques, procedures, and materials which have been developed for use in support of investigations and various Inspection Service programs.
5. Prepares and disseminates according to schedule materials used in the conduct of various test programs; tracks and accounts for such mailed material and develops periodic analyses and reports.
6. Establishes and maintains subject matter files and records in connection with specific functions or programs.
7. Performs routine secretarial and clerical duties, as assigned.
 
REQUIREMENTS (KSAs):
 1. Knowledge of Inspection Service policies, procedures, programs, investigative and audit techniques sufficient to review publications, complaint forms, correspondence, test data, and determine action to be taken.
2. Ability to enter data into computer systems, compile and distribute statistical summaries, and ensure the integrity and security of classified information, records and files.3. Ability to retrieve specialized reports through an automated database system, verify the data to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
4. Ability to maintain an automated tracking system sufficient to provide analysis and produce reports.
5. Ability to perform routine administrative duties. 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Willingness to submit to a Tier 2 Moderate Background Investigation (MBI). This investigation requires, among other things, completion of a questionnaire and fingerprinting for a criminal records check. The investigation may require a drug test. The successful applicant will be required to meet and maintain the requirements of this level of background investigation while holding this position.
