NAPUS Hosts Q&A with USPS Execs

South Florida District Manager Jeffrey Becker participated in a panel discussion at the NAPUS FL Chapter State Convention in Clearwater FL.  Joining him were A/MPOO 1 Diane Tindle and MPOO 8 Robert Weiser.  The panel addressed questions from Florida Postmasters on the recent announcement of a Voluntary Early Retirement and Special Incentive offer for the nation's approximate 21,000 Postmasters.  Discussed also was the Post Office Structure Plan --- also called the “POSTPlan” --- which is the Postal Service’s strategy to keep low-activity Post Offices open for business, including thousands of our smallest offices serving rural areas. Many Postmasters in Florida took advantage of this one-on-one opportunity to hear firsthand from their MPOOs and District Managers to help them understand the challenges of the Postal Service and the effects of this recent organizational change on their positions in their administrative offices.
