On August 1, the Margate Police Department hosted its 17th Annual National Night Out Against Crime at the Margate Sports Complex.  This award-winning event draws thousands of people who come out to learn more about the various services provided by the Margate Police Department and other law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

National Night Out Against Crime is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships; and to send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime.
