A Tale of Two Postmasters

At a recent staff meeting, South Florida District Manager Timothy Costello presented official Postmaster Proclamations to Hollywood Postmaster Daniel Carleen and Pompano Beach Postmaster Michael Vecchitto. Costello thanked managers for their dedication and commitment to outstanding customer service and wished them continued success in their careers.

As Hollywood Postmaster, Carleen is administratively and operationally responsible for 535 employees who work in delivery and retail operations at Chapel Lakes Branch, Flamingo Branch, Hillcrest Postal Store, Hollywood Main Office, Miramar Branch, Pembroke Pines Branch, South Florida Retail Unit, University Postal Store, and West Hollywood Hills Station.
 
Carleen joined the U.S. Postal Service as a City Letter Carrier in Minneapolis, MN in 1987.

As Postmaster, Vecchitto is administratively responsible for 599 employees who work at six stations and two finance units in Pompano Beach and the surrounding area. He oversees an annual operating budget of $51 million and has overall responsibility for retail and delivery operations. There are 212,613 city and rural deliveries under his jurisdiction.
