SFL District Welcomes Keating as Acting Plant Manager, Miami P&DC

There’s a new face in the South Florida District --- Timothy (Tim) J. Keating (right) is acting Plant Manager, Miami Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC). He was acting Plant Manager, Jacksonville, FL, Network Distribution Center (NDC) prior to coming to South Florida.

In this detail assignment, Keating will be responsible for managing 806 employees in mail processing, maintenance, and transportation operations at a facility that handles approximately 1.9 billion First Handling Piece (FHP) annual mail volume.

Keating joined the U.S. Postal Service 34 years ago as an EAS-16 Operations Industrial Engineer Trainee for the former Southern Area Office. He progressed through the managerial ranks, having served in several capacities, including EAS-19 Operations Industrial Engineer, Waco, TX, P&DC; EAS-19 Distribution Programs Specialist Sr., San Antonio, TX, P&DC; EAS-21 Operations Industrial Engineer, San Antonio, TX; EAS-25 Manager, In-Plant Support, Atlanta, GA, P&DC; EAS-23 Lead Operations Industrial Engineer, San Antonio, TX, P&DC; and EAS-25 Sr. Manager, In-Plant Support, San Antonio, TX, P&DC.

During his career, Keating accepted numerous detail assignment including EAS-18 Officer In Charge, McGregor, TX; EAS-23 Plant Manager, Waco, TX, P&DC; EAS-24 Plant Manager, Waco, TX, P&DC; EAS-23 Manager, In-Plant Support; San Antonio, TX, P&DC; EAS-23 and 25 Manager, In-Plant Support, North Texas P&DC; EAS-23 Manager, In-Plant Support, Austin, TX, P&DC; and EAS-25 Plant Manager, El Paso, TX, P&DC.

Keating also was detailed as EAS-22 Manager, Distribution Operations, Austin, TX, P&DC; EAS-25 Sr. Manager, Distribution Operations, San Antonio, TX, P&DC; PCES 4 Plant Manager, Tulsa, OK, P&DC; PCES 3 Plant Manager, Austin, TX, P&DC; and PCES-2 Manager, Network Distribution Center (NDC), Jacksonville, FL.

He has completed U.S. Postal Service leadership programs including Processing and Distribution Management (PDM), Management Leadership Program (MLP), and Advanced Leadership Program (ALP). Keating also holds a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt and Black Belt.
