We are once again ready to kick off our annual support of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive which will run through December 16, 2014. The mission of the program is to collect new, unwrapped toys which will be picked up by the Marines and taken to their base for distribution to designated community organizations. The toys should cost no less than $10.00 and should contain no chemicals. Military theme toys such as guns – particularly those that look real – will not be distributed.

As we have done in prior years, we will hold a contest to identify which plant and which Post Office/station/branch donates the most toys from their employees.  At the end of the contest, these facilities will be identified and the Marines will present a plaque to each of the two contest winners – one for a plant and one for a delivery unit.

To facilitate this contest, we will need to ensure that all units send their toys in hampers which are full and clearly identified with the name of the station.  We will be mailing red placards which need to be attached to each hamper for identification purposes.  Please note that finance units need to identify their parent station on the placard to ensure proper credit.

Post Offices, stations and branches should send their Toys for Tots hampers on the CFS runs back to their respective plants.  If the CFS runs are too full, they will need to hold these toys until the following day.  Additionally, the Miami P&DC and West Palm Beach P&DC  will need to ensure they have a designated area for these hampers so that we can pull the placards on a daily basis.

Posters with the Toys for Tots theme are being distributed to all plants, Post Offices, branches, finance units. Cardboard collection boxes should be decorated with the posters and Christmas wrapping paper by our employees.  These Toys for Tots collection boxes should be placed in employee work areas.  Please note that no Toys for Tots collection boxes should be placed in customer lobbies. We should not solicit toys from customers.

Should your facilities have any questions regarding this campaign, please contact Phileana Evans at (305) 470-0250 or me at (305) 470-0881.  Thanks.
