PMG at NPF: 'Collaborating to Deliver'
USPS continues to invest in new capabilities to strengthen the value of mail in the digital world, Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan told National Postal Forum attendees May 22 in Baltimore.
“The growth of the mailing and shipping industry relies on our unrivaled network and rich data platform,” Brennan said. “We are at the convergence of physical and digital. There has never been a bigger opportunity for mail.”
During her keynote address, the PMG announced Informed Delivery has more than two million registered users, and more than 10,000 new customers are signing up daily. Informed Delivery is the new USPS service that provides emailed images of incoming mail to customers.
“Now available in virtually every community in America, Informed Delivery makes mail even more dynamic, adding a whole new layer to the evolution of the mail experience,” she said.
Another USPS investment showcased was Informed Visibility, the Postal Service’s advanced analytics platform to support coordinated marketing campaigns with real-time delivery data.
“We’re collaborating to deliver better experiences for our customers,” said Brennan. “With these technologies, marketers can ensure they are delivering the right message at the right time.”
The PMG also outlined the importance mail has to a successful e-commerce strategy and the increasingly digital consumer landscape.
She also encouraged the mailing and shipping industry to speed the pace of new technology adoption, including digital integration.
