As the consultant for the Employee Assistance
Program (EAP) in the South Florida District, Dr. Vivian Perez-Gonzalez wants to
help employees manage holiday visitors like stress and depression. Perez-Gonzalez invites South Florida
employees to sign up for a new ePromotion,
“Making Peace with the Holidays.”
“Some years, we can approach the holiday season feeling
strong and confident. We bring a positive attitude and little judgment of
ourselves or others to each festivity. But most years, this isn’t reality. Perhaps we are exhausted from working extra hours, grieving a loss, anxious
about bills, or not feeling well,” said Perez-Gonzalez. “And we may still go
shopping and put up the lights and sometimes this lifts us along and helps us
to change direction. Other times, we feel disconnected and all the more in pain
as we watch the glad tidings going on all around us.”
