Sneak Peek: 2015 Stamp Preview


The Postal Service will issue stamps next year that promote letter-writing and pay tribute to the Coast Guard and Medal of Honor recipients from the Vietnam War.
Journalists who report on philatelic matters were given a preview of next year’s stamps Nov. 4. The stamps and the tentative issue dates include:
  • Lunar New Year: Year of the Ram (January)
  • Love: Forever Hearts (January)
  • The War of 1812: The Battle of New Orleans (January)
  • Water Lilies (March)
  • From Me to You — Letter Writing (April)
  • Summer Harvest (June)
  • U.S. Coast Guard (August)
  • Vintage Rose and Vintage Tulip (issue date to be determined)
  • $1 and $2 Patriotic Waves (issue date to be determined)
The Postal Service also announced plans to issue Medal of Honor: Vietnam War stamps, although images and release dates haven’t been released.
USPS will also conclude its Civil War 1865 series with a Battle of Five Forks and Appomattox stamp.
Additionally, the Postal Service announced plans to issue new stamps from its Music Icons, Legends of Hollywood and Black Heritage series, as well as a stamp that honors a notable African American.
Additional details and more stamp subjects will be announced in 2015.
