GA Carrier 'Delivers' Cheer to Child

Marietta, GA, Letter Carrier Scott Wilson with Chase Howard and some of the 7,000 cards received from around the world.

Chase Howard has gotten to know Marietta, GA, Letter Carrier Scott Wilson very well.

Since September, Wilson has delivered at least 7,000 birthday cards to Chase, a 10-year-old with an incurable form of muscular dystrophy.

The mail began pouring in after a Facebook request from Chase’s mom went viral.

“By the time I heard about Chase’s story, I was already receiving hundreds of pieces a day for him,” said Wilson, a 32-year USPS employee.

“I knew there would be a bunch coming in, but this was absolutely awesome.
This lets you know that the American spirit and the love people have in this country is still with us.”

Although Chase is confined to a wheelchair, he has a positive outlook.

“I’m a special kid,” he told the local Fox station. “I feel happy every day even though I’m in a wheelchair.”

Chase added that he will get new legs when he gets to heaven.

News sites have posted his address online: 2318 Zelma Court, Marietta, GA 30060.
