Royal Palm P&DC Seeks Ad-Hoc OSS

A/Senior Plant Manager Earl Randel and Manager, In Plant Support Joanna Borger are looking for an employee to fill  an Ad-Hoc Operations Support Specialist (OSS) EAS-17 position (not to exceed two years) at the Royal Palm Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC).

All qualified career employees within local commuting distance (50 miles) of the Royal Palm P&DC, 5500 NW 142 Street, Opa-locka, FL, may apply for this  opportunity. The work schedule will be 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. with Sunday and Monday as non-scheduled days. Applicants also should be flexible and be willing to work off schedule for needs of the service.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and have an acceptable attendance record.

Functional Purpose: Provides technical staff work related to the analysis and evaluation of operations procedures, service programs and systems; including sort program development and maintenance, and operational requirements and quality improvements in support of mail processing, customer services or delivery operations.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (Requirements):

1.     Knowledge of postal operations, including mail processing, delivery, facilities, equipment and operational staffing functions.
2.      Ability to prepare and maintain an operating budget.
3.    Ability to analyze data to determine requirements for new or modified facilities, equipment, and operational staffing.
4.     Ability to analyze quality improvement and operational performance data and prepare sampling plans.
5.      Ability to implement, monitor, and evaluate quality and operational improvement programs and procedures to ensure they meet established specifications.
6.      Ability to communicate orally and in writing at a level sufficient to work with customers, contractors, and major mailers and to prepare information related to operational programs.
