Scan & Deliver: It's a Way of Life

Consumer behavior has changed dramatically over the past few years, with online purchases resulting in significant growth for package delivery companies. As we all know, we face strong competition among delivery companies for our share of the overall market. The good news is we are gaining market share, and the advent of Priority Mail and the Flat Rate Box have been key components to that growth.

To keep the momentum going, we must improve on our scanning performance. Customers paying for Extra Services with tracking events such as Delivery Confirmation and Signature Confirmation rightfully expect to determine the status of their shipments via Track & Confirm as they move towards final delivery. Online shoppers are logging onto their computers for the same information, along with the Out for Delivery message, which alerts recipients that their shipment will arrive that delivery day. Because we live in such an information-driven society, many times the package delivery status is just as important as what is inside the box.

It’s simple. Proper scanning protects and enhances our revenue as well. When we provide great scanning service, mailers will bring more business to us. When we fail, they will find someone else to provide the service they need. And that’s a risk we aren’t willing to take.

So won't you "scan by me?"
